On the southern shore of Lake Llanquihue, this small public pavilion defines a space for gathering and play through a gesture that is both symbolic and territorial: two red steel beams precisely aligned with the craters of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes, turning the horizon into a framed landscape.
The structure draws inspiration from the traditional rural barns of southern Chile — typically built with blackened timber walls and red corrugated metal roofs. This material language is reinterpreted here with an exposed timber structure and a sloped black roof, while the red beams evoke those iconic roofs in a new configuration: now horizontal and pointing toward the Andes.
Each module houses functional elements such as restrooms, storage, and play areas, while the spaces in between allow for informal use and visual connection with the surroundings. In its minimalism, the pavilion acts both as a lookout and a civic anchor, mediating between territory, memory, and community.
